OK ladies and gents. I drew an Archery Elk Tag for GMU 501 her in Colorado. May the meat gods smile upon me....

Where is unit 501?? It's been many years since I've hunted colorado.. Really liked the Flat-Top area on the S.E. side.. It was an open area when I first hunted there and became a draw unit soon after that..

Welcome and good luck on your hunt. Don't know anything about the area, went there one time back in 1994 but that was when a greenie like myself could just go there, buy a tag, and hit the hills. Only thing I remember was heading to the Rocky Mountains blind.
