I didnt want to come off as a guy here just to hawk his products. While I am happy to help people achieve the sharpest broadheads they can, I have other things to offer this community. I plan to become a sponsor here. I just need to work out the details with Larry.
Im glad you are finding the sharpening guide useful and to your liking. Dont hesitate to ask questions.
Yes, I offer both a fixed blade and replaceable blade version of the sharpener as well as a shaft squaring tool but I am in the midst of finalizing a product for the compound bowhunter. I need to finish the drawings for the patent Im filing.

Re: Broadhead sharpening
I am in disbelief at the things I read about sharpening broadheads .
I've read some that are more complicated than a religious serimony .
The strop blochs ,crock sticks , roll-a-matic auto razor maker .
How did they ever sharpen a straight razor before these gizmoes ever showed up ?
I have yet to see one that can even come close to doing a sharpening job any better than can be done by hand . Let alone as handy .
People now days are drifting away from simple skills and overcomplicating things .
Sorry , just my opinion .

For some reason I have always sucked when it comes to putting an edge on steel. Sorry, but that's the way it is, graps.graps wrote:I am in disbelief at the things I read about sharpening broadheads .

When I spend half an hour using what appears to me to be the correct files, angles and preparation and am left with a broadhead that doesn't even feel sharp when I drag it across a nail, I admit defeat and own the fact that I'm missing something. Anything I can do to even it up is a step in the right direction.
I have spent equal amounts of time sharpening a kitchen knife only to saw it on a ripe tomato with the only result being squishing the tomato.
Aim small, miss small!

You need to see with your fingers .
It can't be taught in writing .
It's one of those showing things not a telling thing .
If you and I ever get a chance to get together I'll show you how to see with your fingers .
I have taught countless kids in the Boy Scouts how to sharpen a knife and I don't remember any that couldn't do it .

I'd love to take you up on that someday. I'm one of 'those guys' that sharpens a dull knife and makes it worse.graps wrote:You need to see with your fingers .

Can't sharpen a knife, but I'm quick on the draw, by golly!

When you two fellers get together it's just too funny! I need better sharpening skills and like Kirk anything that can improve my ability to get a blade sharp I'm fur it!
