Re: Silence of the Carp
All in all we had a great time although it was quite cold. I wish Steve would have been able to stay but stuff happens. I was able to shoot the entire course Friday before Steve left so maybe he got enough lessons. I struggled quite bad that evening when we got back to Marks camper to rest, was having a lot of pain but it was worth it! I was afraid I wouldn't be able to do anything Saturday morning but did get to shoot one side and the smoker round. That's where they place targets in a thicket so bad that you struggle to find them. I did okay till the last target, a steel turkey with only one small hole in the kill zone, miss and you lose an arrow, I missed! Yes Mark did too, Steve was already gone. I was smart enough to fletch some old aluminum arrows from my trash bucket for just such occasions. Mark was sharp enough to barely draw his bow for his arrows sake, first shot hit the ground and the second solid steel! The arrow survived though.

I had to leave around noon Saturday for a prayer meeting. Several Churches and Pastors that have been praying for me wanted to have a special prayer service where they could get together in one place and have a worship service and special prayer on my behalf. The Church was packed, I was overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and compassion I received. I just had to get me a box of Kleenex and enjoy the singing and praying. Then I ended up having to preach at my own prayer service! Among probably more than 10 pastors one would think I could get out of it. I was tired from getting home just in time for a shower and getting to the service but blessed with enough strength to do it. Thankfully I was able to preach tonight's service also. It's amazing how many good friends one can gather, I am blessed abundantly!

Thanks Bownut.
Leaving about 6:30 in the morning to meet the feller that will be field gutting me, I'm guessing he will go over the plans for surgery and other stuff. I'm still above ground in spite of what some think. A preacher just called me and ask me how I keep answering the phone when I'm supposed to be dead according to the gossip he is hearing. I guess I look bad from loosing so much weight and being so pale, but I'm still alive praise God! Thanks for your faith.

I'm amazed at how some folks continue to know that God can heal in spite of the obstacles they have faced. God doesn't do everything I ask but has done enough to convince me that he can and does work miracles! Cancer is no bigger than a cold to him, it just makes folks worry more and the word seems to effect the faith of many. Standing in the pulpit last night I noticed two pastors in the crowd that I had conducted their wife's funeral service within the last few years, both passed away from cancer, yet they came because they still knew God could heal. Some of those Pastors I had baptized them and their family over 30 years ago. Sorry to go on so much but I just needed to share how blessed I really am!

Well ain't nobody told me to hush yet so I will testify a little more. During the service last night someone yelled "Let's take up an offering to help Tony with the expense of traveling". Several others shouted amen, And boy did they ever! With the addition today from a few who could not make it to the service yesterday the offering has exceeded $1,600.00!!! Now I tell you again that I am blessed!!

Met surgeon this morning after a two hour drive just to talk to him. All I got was a quick once over of how he was going to remove the tumor and kidney with a laparoscopic tool (Probably a toilet plunger). Anyhow; said they would call when they get it set up at hospital, should be this week or at least next. As far as those killer treatments they are not saying anything until after surgery and pathology report. Did get a good dinner with the wife at Red Lobster! Turkey season comes in Saturday, guess I won't be bothering them this year either!
