Re: Missing it!
YES! I'd rather hunt with good dogs then any other way!
The element of surprise can never be replaced by persistence.
Re: Missing it!
Growing up in Southeastern Ky I cut my teeth on Squirrel & Rabbit. My hunting began with following my Dad through the woods learning the trees and packing Squirrels before I could a gun. I would be so excited on Friday nights that I couldn't sleep knowing we were going hunting on Saturday morning. After the leaves fell a buddy had a feist dog that would wear us out and give us cramps in our necks looking up for Squirrels. Good memories!

Re: Missing it!
Sometimes it seems like the dogs enjoy the hunting more than the hunters...

Re: Missing it!
I can say I get caught up in the dogs and almost rather watch them work then watch for rabbits/squirrel!

Re: Missing it!
You took me back Shadowhntr, spent many nights coon hunting in my younger days. A good tree dog would tree coons at night and Squirrels in the day. I had a Black & Tan once that could do both.
