That is really a bummer.

Re: Recurve build
Ugh.... feel your pain. Get back on that horse young man!
The element of surprise can never be replaced by persistence.
Re: Recurve build
Ouch! Hate to see things like that, the bow building process can be cruel, not to mention expensive.
Re: Recurve build
Got some shaping done on the bow. Still got work to do to finish it, but it's getting close. Strings tracking dead center on the limbs now. Braced @ 7.5" in the pic. Originally wanted a 56" copy of the Kmag, ended up @ 52". Tiller came out dead even.
Went ahead and shot it yesterday at the club range a few times. Haven't scaled it, but the consensus from the others is it came in around 35lbs. Put about 25 shots thru it, no explosions yet. Pulls super smooth all the way to my 29.5" draw. Interested to see what the draw force curve shows when I get a decent scale.
My next one I'm gonna try a 14" riser to get a little more working limb and see if I can't get 45-50lb out of it. Interested to see if i gained any performance over the Kmag, my form has a little more reflex than the Kmag.
Might forgo the g-10 double I beam on the next one, that was an expensive little addition to the build.
Anyone ever work with coreflex/actionwood(the stuff Binghams sells)? Thinking about using that material on the next one.
Thanks for the thoughts everyone.

Re: Recurve build
That's a nice looker, I really like short recurves.
