Here’s the milled “shim plate” mounted on the limb.

I like using the rockers so I filed the nubs down on the back so they would fit in the shim plate without hitting the limbs. This shows the limb, plate and rocker mounted in the riser pocket.

I use a 5/16-18 Button socket bolt sometimes instead of the Sage bolts. Makes it a little neater looking. Sorry about the blurry pics..don’t know what’s going on yet.

But...there’s several ways of doing it and you sure don’t have to go through the trouble of making a shim plate . That’s just something I wanted to try and it does work well. So I wouldn’t throw the limbs or rockers away...maybe save for a future project?

Very interesting, I’ll be watching yard sales. Anything in particular I should look for, or a list of some that work well??

I think I will also.
Even if I can make a take down and make ILF limbs. I can put my limbs on an old riser that would just possibly go in the trash.

I would try and get a Bear Black Bear or a Jennings. The Hoyt/Easton Gamegetter, or Rambo is the same riser and the The width of the limb pocket is wider than the Sage limb on all of these so you can shim it instead of making the limb pocket wider.
The PSE Silverhawk is another cheaper riser and is really good for this, but some of them require widening the pocket.
It’s not much trouble to modify the pocket if you have too...I use a Dremmel with a deburr bit.
Don’t waste your time with a Whitetail.
Keep your eyes on the classifieds too. I saw a 40# Sage in new condition go for $75 bucks, TYD. Some times you can pick up an unmodified riser for $35-40, or trade for something.

How would you compare your frankenbows to a Martin Jaguar? I've been thinking about a Jaguar or something similar in 50-55 lb @28" for bowfishing with my AMS set up.
The element of surprise can never be replaced by persistence.
