Idaho Elk

It was a short elk season for me this year. Shot this 5x5 opening day. It was hot and the elk were not talking yet so I decided to sit a water hole. He came in right before dark to about 12 yards and I made the easy shot. He ran about 15 yards after the shot and I cow called, he stopped and flipped over backwards tumbling about 5 yards from where I shot him. I love blood trailing but I didn't complain. I shot him with my Cascade Brush Hawk, cedar arrows from Elite Arrows and 145grain 2 blade Eclipse heads.

That's a beauty, Jesse. That is a very full bodied 5x5-what do you figure was the live weight?
Congrats,
Bjorn

Thanks Bjorn, Man I am never good at guessing the live weight they seem so big once you start packing them! If I had to guess though I would say 700-750lbs.?.

Wow congratulstions!
