A little knife porn to end the week

#1 Post by dhaverstick »

I got this in the mail yesterday. It's a custom knife I had made by Tiago De Matos of Wild Edge Knives in England. Several months ago, a good friend of mine tagged me on Facebook to look at the knife Tiago had made him. I instantly fell in love with the guy's work, especially after I looked at all the stuff he had posted on FB. Anyway...I decided to have Tiago make me a skinning knife and this is what I received. He named it the "Flamboyant Peacock". I told him I liked flashy stuff because I wanted to be able to find my knife after I laid it down in the leaves. He certainly met the challenge!

The first thing that blew me away when I started unwrapping my package was the fact that the knife came in its own wooden box. I thought that was a very classy touch. He also included a nice card thanking me for my business. Well you can bet that this won't be the only knife I get from him. I love to cook and he makes some drop dead gorgeous chef knives and cleavers.

Enjoy!

White Falcon, I paid $280 for that knife delivered to my door. I've had other custom knives made and I thought that was an excellent price for what I received. I got to pick out the blade shape, what type of steel was used, and what kind of handle I wanted.

Tiago does not have a web page. The only way I know that you can see his stuff is on Facebook. Just search for "Wild Edge Knives". Occasionally, he will have a knife for sale at wayofknife.com.

Beautiful work. If quality is anywhere near appearance you have a great knife! And I’m guessing it will be, you don’t do all that work to pretty up a Skunk! Juz saying.

It feels great in my hand, well balanced and comfortable. The blade is also scary sharp. Tiago is a master at his craft!
