FAMILY

#1 Post by BBWV »

Hello All, hope everybody season is going well. Are bow season has just got under way here in WV and I have a couple days plan to hunt with my brother. We live about a 100 miles apart, he in the north central and me in the southern mountains. We both have been looking to the next few days, my son will get to hunt with us on saturday.
My brother and I enjoy these hunts. Doing a lot of reflecting on where we've been and where we come from. We grew up on a farm working hard and our dad was also a logger. We did a lot of huntin and trapping along with fishing. Our dads gone now but we still recall stories of past hunts and adventures that we had while growing up while still making new ones. Our last hunt took us to FL back in april for a Hog hunt, and yes we made some memories that we are still laughing at.
I'm now 46 and he's 50, so I guess we're becoming old folks doing stuff. Will up date after the hunt a let ya no how we did, hopefully no trips to the emergency room.

Well we made it. Neither one done any good, but we had a good time. We had just awful high wind, 20 to 30 mph with 40 an 50 gust. Friday evening it settled down before dark and I seen 3 Bucks, one was a Brute, but I couldn't close the cap and had to watch him at about 75 yrd. Brother had pulled the sneak on a couple but a gust of wind gave him away.
Here in WV, do to the ridges and hollows a normal breeze won't stay constant, with this wind it would blow up your back then in your ear and then up your nose. My brother had a big ol owl land right beside him, I think it got blowed out of a tree.
My son got to hunt saturday, he seen a few doe. Been having a bear problem at one feeder. But we can't shoot him here because you can't hunt them over bait in WV, and a deer feeder is considered bait. And neither one of us ended up at the emergency room even though I got swallow up by a blind saturday evening and I was begining to wonder.
All in all we had a good hunt and are planing our next one.
