The majority of your bowhunting year is spent practicing and/or training. This is the place to discuss it!

Dave's string came in the mail while I was in Dallas. Stretched it overnight and shot it in today. So, the 55# bow really likes 2016 with 150 grain points. Also tried 175 and GT 400's with 150 and 175. Looks pretty good. Might get a trip to the woods soon.

I encourage anyone considering a new bow purchase to seriously consider one of these. $129 from manufacturer or $106 on Ebay shipped. The ebay ones also come with a stringer. I have shot alot of bows in my life can't even begin to put a number on how many. These in my opinion are very tunable. The grip fits like a glove and at about an 8" brace height they are whisper quiet. Trap tested these at like 185 fps with the 40# version and 1816 aluminum arrow. For a shooter with mediocre accuracy, I must say I shoot these very very well out to 20 yards. I have a 40 and 55 longbow really like them both. May even buy another in the recurve version sometime.

How’d that string do? Again those bows look awesome.

Just fine, a few twists and shot, a few. More and she's good. Hopefully I got the nocks glued right. I just put super glue on the outer ends against the serving.

That will work. I usually do a dot on the outer edge and cover the entire nock in a light coat of super glue. The coat protects it from wear over time and it will last as long as the string that way. Also just because you glued them doesn’t mean you can change if needed. Work nock back and forth and you can usually break it free again. If you don’t coat the nock it could fray and eventually come off.
