Just Curious... Where Y'all from.. and Who hunts Elk... or Would Like too?

I am from Mass and have bow hunted elk DIY in Colorado for 9 times of the last 15 years. I have been successful twice during those years, first one with a compound bow (2003) and the second with a recurve bow (2012), passed on one and missed one. At 66 with a bad back those mountains keep getting much steeper and I hope to get a couple more hunts in. If anyone out there has though about elk hunting do it now, you are not getting younger. Our average 13 night trip runs about $1800.

Been out to Colorado 7 times on DIY hunts and killed two bulls, 4x4 and 6x6, with my Howard Hill longbow. If I could shoot straight would have had more. lol

Nice to see more Elk hunters here. Although we have lots of deer here in Montana, most of my hunting each year is for Elk.

Never been. Scarcely even see a good ole deer on public land. Mostly see stumps.
