Just beyond the knob there is a thicket with lots of trails going in, ace me a makeshift ground blind behind a fallen tree trunk.

Good luck out there today Tony. Stay safe.

My view this morning, unfortunately it was all I got to view, other than the Squirrels bombing me with Hickory nuts! 🐿. Mark had a Coyote come trotting by, didn’t lead on the shot so hit behind it, hard to hit those critters.

My morning hunt involved driving 30 minutes, going deep into the woods, climbing a tree at daybreak, and seeing nothing!
My evening hunt was different, went close to home at a Pastor friends house, sat behind a bunch of old autos, and saw 8 deer, mostly bucks. The only two that came within range were a spike and a knot head. They passed just beyond the popular trees across the truck, approximately 22-23 yards. Here is my evening set up..

Is that a 'redneck blowdown', Tony?

Busy week plus temperatures in the 90’s will likely keep me out of the woods this week!

Having health issues along with the heat has kept me out of the woods, not hunted since opening day. Plenty of Doctors, X-Rays yesterday, Scans coming this evening, no fun! :(
But I was able to walk a little piece in the woods after taking a boy to school and sit for about an hour. Saw nothing but felt good to get outdoors again. Here is my short sitting place not far in the woods...

Some times the woods therapy is needed.
