Frozen Jerky?

#1 Post by White Falcon »

Just found some jerky in the freezer that has been in there for 2 yrs. Would it be still good to eat?

James may be right I don't really know.

I found some in my pack from last year that I got from my friend. It was sealed up in a zip lock sandwich bag that was in one of those tupperware sandwich keepers for about a year. I opened it, it smelled fine so I ate a small piece. It tasted okay, so I had another piece. That was over 2 weeks ago and I had another piece the other day. It seems to be just fine. It was not any one of the brands you see in grocery stores or sporting goods stores.

That being said I would say it depends on how the jerky was made and packaged. Was it cured and/or vacuum sealed?
Myself, I would try it, but that's me. I love jerky.

It has been frozen since it was made. This is how it was made.

Well I didn't die, but didn't taste very good. Had a slight mold taste. :( :(
