C'mon now...no excuses!

#1 Post by Captainkirk »

OK. We give students the summer off in our schools. But school is looming in a few weeks for those of you with kids and grandkids. So, time to get ready.
Same goes for TradHunter! You've had the last year or so off with nothing more to show here besides the Word Game thread and a few neat things posted by Darren. But time to get back to it! Hunting season is right around the corner...what are you hunting, where are you hunting, with what equipment are you hunting...you get the idea! Even if you're not planning on hunting, lets rev up the conversation!

I plan on stocking the freezer with whitetails using various instruments of death; longbows and flintlocks. I will be hunting behind the house and at my farm.

But...I am also heading to Alberta on September 26th to try to bring home another Bullwinkle with a longbow. Man, those things sure are good to eat!

I can honestly say...I had mooseburgers when I was a youngster and have never forgotten it. Best burgers I ever ate, bar none! Totally with you on that.

Yep, season is peeping at us, and I’m trying to be ready. Have set about five stands, got some pictures, and shooting a 3D shoot every month. Just got home from one.

The crowds are gathering, it’s upon us, almost time for them to disappear.

This morning my buddy and I set a couple more stands during which we made an executive decision. We shall never purchase another hang on stand, furthermore; we will refuse them even if free. Those thing are made for the younger generation and not a couple seniors! I think we have even decided to leave them to grow with the tree and give the critters something to sit on. Ladder stands with a side by side taking you to the base of it is the only way for wore out, sickly, elders!!

OK. Put in for my deer archery permit, as did my son. Maybe one of us will get lucky this year! :D

haven't posted here much lately. work and everything else taking up a lot of time. I did buy a new Montana 45# bow, shot it a couple times. Not sure if I will hunt with trad this year very much. Just haven't had the time to shoot and get comfortable to hunt with it yet this year. Probably shot a total of 5-6 times since last season. I did buy a new black powder gun, a CVA inline, so that's not necessarily a traditional method either. I plan to take it out on the 11th when muzzle loader opens up. Need to get something figured out for bow hunting.
