Re: Windplaning....which broadheads?
Hmmm... Theories. In theory if your broadhead is vertical and it's a windy day the wind could blow your arrow off the rest, due to blowing against it instead of across it being horizontal. Of course that's just in theory.

You make a very good point, HF. Had not thought of that, nor read about it as a recommendation. I will keep that in mind.hornfrog wrote:Hmmm... Theories. But....what if you have a downdraft or updraft in your tree stand?
Aim small, miss small!
Re: Windplaning....which broadheads?
Don't glue them on , just put them on hand tight that way you can adjust them according to wind direction and barometric pressure and you will be fine ... Just fine ! Seriously I mount my 2 blade glue on at about a 45 degree angle toward the riser because of the sight picture it gives me! Prolly doesn't make any difference, just what I do.Captainkirk wrote:You make a very good point, HF. Had not thought of that, nor read about it as a recommendation. Suggestion: mount one each way and test several shots to see what you like. I don't like mine sticking up into my field of view. Don't know for sure if it really matters, maybe just a mental thing.

Well, now...since I'm doing pure instinctive and paying the arrow no mind, I'm hoping the field of view thing won't come into play.
Aim small, miss small!
Re: Windplaning....which broadheads?
I do but fear it might Anyhow.
Re: Windplaning....which broadheads?
I don't purposefully use my arrow for aiming but I am aware of it at times in my field of veiw, less so if my broadhead is canted, try carpdaddys idea. Set one broadhead vertical, one horizontal and one canted about halfway between and report your findings to us!
