Hmm. I've heard of 'em but never tried one. Thanks for the info on that, Jim. Like everyone over 50 my back has it's good days and bad days.

Getting ready for a big week at work..... prayers needed.
Nothing clears a troubled mind like shooting a bow.

Re: What did you do today?
Yesterday was a "rebound day" for me...had the granddaughter over to visit after dinner and just kinda 'vegged' until time to bring her home. The weather was crap anyway; windy, chilly and drizzle.
Didn't help ease the guilt feelings though...one thing about living in the midwest; even in the early spring you know your outside 'fair-weather' (summer season) time is extremely limited. So many projects, so little time!

Re: What did you do today?
Ok....gotta get my mind off my Mother in Laws failing health....a break from stress, so forgive me if this seems a weird post.
Thought I'd talk a minute about fur. I've got an otter some of you may remember me posting about. Im going to have USA FOXX AND FUR make a set of mittens out of him. Russ had some made from a red coyote, and they are easily the nicest mittens ive ever been around. They will match my otter fur Russian hat I had them make a few years ago. A lil expensive, but these are top of the line.
Im also going to have to replace my favorite fleshing knife, known as a Necker 600. Late summer 2015, we had a new furnace and central air system put in our house. I kept my fur working supplies up in our partially finished attic where the system was installed. It ends up one or more of the workers were thieves, and stole some of my supplies. The fleshing knife, and one of my $100 Case Trapper knife, and I think both of my Ulu knives...one which a friend made me that can never be replaced, because he passed away. I only plan on replacing the fleshing knife. This time, im going to go with a Canadian brand, known as "Post" knives. Here is his two handed flesher...
Quite nice knives I understand. I hope to trap bobcat, coyote, red fox, muskrat, beaver, and even a few coon this next fall and winter. Im missing it badly, and after the rut, i'll be taking you all along with me on my trap line. Thanks for letting me talk fellers.
Here is Mr Post website, for any of you curious window shoppers...or if you are in the market as he makes many knife styles.

Re: What did you do today?
Sure hope you can take us along on the tanning process as well as the trapping, I would be interested to see that done.
Re: What did you do today?
Dang! I didn't know that stuff got stolen! What a load of Bull! I been missing the trap line too. We shall see what happens, but I'd like to get back at it too. Maybe the fur prices will rebound a bit, maybe not, but ive gone turkey huntin two evenings at one spot and seen coons both times heading to the truck. May as well use the traps for something, they're just sitting around in the way.
