Trapped all thru highschool and coon hunted.no coyotes back then,and very few deer.that was when ya seen a deer ya talked about it or even the tracks.always bought mail ordered traps from hawbakers,or the local hardware store.good times.

Yeah I’m trying pretty hard to influence my youngest. His big brother hasn’t showed any interest in it. So this one is my only shot. Good luck with them beavers. I’ve got about 4 places that has some as well. That I’ve been asked about. I’d rather not catch them this early. There is rumors they are thinking about extending water trapping into March here. Instead of ending at the end of February. I hope they do.

Nice dogs! One night catches are always a blessing!

We have been graced with a March water season here for a number of years now. It makes for great beaver trapping.

Speaking of beavers,,,,I took 4 last week doing animal damage control with 2 other areas on the horizon. As you could imagine, pelts are still crap. Got meat and casters/oil glands though.

I'm really wanting to hit a few ponds for muskrats before they start getting cut up. I like ice, and if we dont hurry up and get cold weather to make it thick enough to get out on to work it, they will start biting each other....Ugh...
