I'd take it. Just to be out there. There's always a chance.

I started hitting him with the cow calls and he really went off at this point,i still had not seen him as he was across the canyon from me under the cover of pine trees.I heard him thrashing a branch and breaking limbs as he got further into his rut craze.I saw him finally coming down the far ridge at a deliberate steady trot.He was coming in.I turned up the heat on him to keep him hot.I started hitting him with the estrus wine that cows in heat use on them.He stopped at the bottom of the canyon to pick on another tree and at this point I figured he was hooked. All of a sudden I spotted movement to my left and here comes another bull at a dead run straight to me.I told myself the first one across the finish line gets the prize. The big bull had hung up in the bottom while beating up any tree he could find. The second bull was no where near the size of the big boy rack wise but I am a meat hunter first and foremost.

I switched my attention from the big bull to the much faster younger bull,he was on me in a matter of thirty seconds or less. This is the part where I tell you once again that I was hunting with my bowtech compound bow.I have a firm belief in the fact that a hunter is a hunter no matter his choice of weapons.I hold no grudge against any of you who post stories of your hunts no matter what you are hunting with. That being said if you stop reading this thread then do so now because things are a heatin up around here.

No squawks outta me, Larry. I still own a couple and probably always will. Just not that interested in shooting them at the moment, but things come around...Great pix and story so far. More, please!

The bull came directly to me at 40 yds but was confused by the lack of cows he thought were waiting for him,he became very nervous and started walking to my left.Remember now he is thirty feet down a rock cliff I guess one could call it.He was walking out of the scene from what I could tell.I cupped my left hand and called to my right,he turned and started back to my right.I needed another three steps from him to pass by a dead pine and give me a clear shot.He cleared the tree and I stopped him with a straight on mew.He stopped dead in his tracks and I settled my pin on his sholder then moved it back to the sweet spot.I let my arrow fly and it zipped straight through him.He ran full speed for about two seconds and was doing end over ends into a dead downfall.Herehe his.

I have to say that mike and gary are a couple of hikin machines and really did most of the work getting the meat up that steep hill.I would have been in dire straights had they not been there.I thank you gentlemen and it was a pleasure to hunt with you both.
