Re: BROADHEADS
Bear Razor Heads. Plan on using Zwickey Eskimos or Magnus MAII's on the arrows I'm building...
Aim small, miss small!
Re: BROADHEADS
Hum, broad question with as many different ones as I have. My recent hunting arrows are Carbon Express Heritage 250s. Three tipped with Muzzy phantoms, two more with same weight (125grain) Stingers, three with Abowyer heads (personal favorite), and even a few with bear razorheads. Then I have cane arrows with grizzly single bevel and even some wood with Zwickey and ace heads. You don't want to get me going on all the others I have needing an arrow to go on! One thing they all have in common is that they are all two blade, never needed more. Yes; I am broadhead poor and they all serve me well with a good edge.
Re: BROADHEADS
Wood arrows with Zwicky Delta two blade..
I've also been experimenting on GT carbons, 125 gr steel broadhead adapter, Zwicky delta two blade. The carbons are durable, just want a little more weight..

Re: BROADHEADS
The carbons also come with a wood grain finish so we can still look traditional!
The durability part is what I like the most, I have only broke one in the last three seasons of hunting, unless a few that I lost were broke. To make them even more durable I glue a 2" piece of an aluminum arrow over the end at the insert. I have hit some hard stumps without damage, none as huge as graps got on another post. Another thought we overlook is the durability of our broadheads. How many have you shot through game only to have them unusable afterwards? This is why I have so many incomplete sets, hit bone or miss and hit a root and you are short one head. I paid a little more for the heavy single bevel thick heads like the Abowyer but it has saved me several purchases since. I don't remember how many years I have had them or how many deer I have taken with them (or how many misses were stuck into the ground) but they are still good. I would guess them to be 7-8 years old and other than some chips from hitting rock they are still good. I recently looked at some more but like everything else the price has about double now. The last doe I shot at the end of season was with one of them. I have got to go back and find that arrow and head!

Re: BROADHEADS
Would like to try the abowyer and grizzley broadheads this year, and maybe even carbon arrows. Like my cedar arrows but always open for something within reason. Carp, was wondering what size abowyer broadhead your using with the carbons?
