Wooden arrows; what's your magic bullet?

#1 Post by Captainkirk »

What's your 'magic bullet' recipe for building a good wooden arrow? Type of wood, fletching, nocks, points and so on?
You do 'em up fancy or go Spartan on the fit and finish?
Build your own or buy 'em pre-made?
You have a 'checklist' of things you do or just wing it?

Not doing it anymore and judging from the replies it would appear that not many others are.

This is what I do , just stain and wipe on poly .
I like the pink because it is easier to find my arrows when I fire a warning shot .

So most of you are using carbons, then?

Graps, nice arrows. Cedar?

Once again I'm with Graps. So far, only wood. Cedar shafts. Shoot anywhere between 135gr to 175 gr glue on tips (various heads). 5-51/2 shield cut feathers. No reason. just like em. Most of my shots are 15 yds or less.
