help needed from experienced bow hunters :)
Hey guys! Im excited to have found a forum with people helping answering questions! I’m doing research on bow hunting as part of a university project and I would really appreciate it if you could answer these few questions on Survey Monkey. These questions will help me be able to produce statistics to present in class. As a way to thank you, there is a spot to enter in to win a Chick-Fil-A gift card. Thanks in advance for the help! I will really appreciate your help.

Id like to help you out youngun, but some of the questions I just cant answer from their construction.
Please Understand that you are asking a bunch of traditional bow hunters if we would be willing to use sightes because they would make us more accurate and indicate we wont take animals as lethaly without sightes. While we may not shoot as tight of groups as sighted modern bows, i can assure you our methods are just as lethal when all is considered. Its kind of a loaded question. It leaves the idea, that we either answer yes to sights , or admit we put animals at a high risk of wounding which is simply not true.. I will not be able to answer it because of that. Sorry.

The element of surprise can never be replaced by persistence.

Well said Shadowhutr.
Bullseye; we would be happy to discuss these subjects with you on this forum if you would like to bring up some of these questions on here, but if this is just an effort to sell sights then you probably won't have great success here.

Hey Carpdaddy, I will for sure post the questions on the forum later throughout the day. If I maintain peoples answers on my SurveyMonkey website it will make getting my percentages and statistics much easier. I am currently trying to find statistics to be able to find where bow hunters find value in certain features and lets us know their thoughts. I am doing this project for my Business Entrepreneur senior class and my project is due on April, so I need to get as many honest answers as possible.Carpdaddy wrote:Well said Shadowhutr.

Hey! Thanks for your response and feedback. I will be making some changes to my survey. I need to know how Traditional and Modern bow hunters feel about certain values.
Thanks again
Re: help needed from experienced bow hunters :)
I would recommended changes to the survey to get responses needed. You may or may not understand the Tradhunter way of thinking. The use of sights from the members here is going to be a very small percentage. But we do feel that our equipment is more than effective, most members here have proven that already. Many of us at one time used more modern equipment (including sights) and switched to this more traditional way. Maybe it's just how it's worded in the survey that makes it go against the grain. My response to it was much the same as Shadowhutr's.

I would add that I am one of those who switched from compound bows with sights to bows without them. I cannot say that I shoot more accurate or that I have never wounded an animal this way but I can say that my shots taken verses Deer recovered has increased in percentage since making the switch. One could argue that I take shorter distance shots and that I am more careful about shot selection but however you slice it I still get a higher percentages.

Thanks for your involvement ! I actually need feedback from both modern and traditional bow hunters! Thanks to several feedback I have got, I have made some changes to my survey that will help me distinguish the traditional vs modern bow hunters value in certain features and thoughts! Thanks again for the critiques!
