New to me bow

#1 Post by Longtrad »

We'll guys, I have been searching for a longbow on the tg classifieds and finally found one that matched the specs I wanted to a T.

It's a 54" Toelke Pika, 2 piece, 51@28" 8-)

Something I found interesting is that it looks like there is a layer of black glass or maybe phonolic in the limb cores all the way through

Is this usual?

The thing I really like about this rig is the take down system, the bow bolt locks in with a 1/4 turn and feels rock solid. Broke down its about the length of an arrow and packs up nicely into my back quiver. This makes it perfect for taking with me when I ride my bike.

hrhrhrh :)

well I wont say a dollar amount but I will say it was around 65% of the new cost of a t/d pika... sure I didnt get to pick out the wood, but the specs are on point and I didnt have to wait for a build up. I would bet money the previous owner didnt put 60 arrows through the bow! The strike plate looked brand new and I couldnt find a single scratch..... not that a few scratches would bother me, I was just surprised someone would have a bow this sweet and not shoot it!

Sweet! Sounds like you "stole it"! I was just looking at those a few weeks ago on the Toelke website. Way to go Clay!

So give us your thoughts on how she flicks sticks...feel, speed, accuracy, or anything else you might wanna say about that baby. What was your first impressions, after shooting it? I can tell from looking that has to be a sweet shooting bow!
