The Daily Grind

#1 Post by Captainkirk »

Work...ugh. We work to live, not live to work. At least I don't. Regardless, some of us have some pretty interesting jobs. Or at least they might be interesting to others. Snap a few photos of what you do in the daily grind, post them up here with a little story about what's going on, no matter what you do. You're a pig farmer? Show us dem piggies. Welder? Snap a few of some projects. House builder? Nothing cooler than watching a bunch of sticks turn into a home. Work in an office? Show us your desk or the water cooler. Preacher? Show us The Lord's House. Retired? Show us the inside of your local WalMart. Trad archers come from all walks of life and it's cool to see them all!

Well, some of you that have been here a while know what I do in my "Daily Grind"; for those of you that don't, I am chief of maintenance on a pair of Falcon 2000 Classic jet aircraft for a private corporation. Last week we had some engine work scheduled to be done in our facility, and the mobile crew came up to handle it. They got started Thursday.

The day started out way too early, with the launch of our other aircraft. The mobile team showed up and began the process...first removing the cowls, then the afterbodies and thrust reversers (TR's), and finally the hot section heat shields...

Hopefully, things will start going back together Monday morning (tomorrow) so we can make a Wednesday flight.

We missed getting much done yesterday as only half the parts showed up.... :(
But the mobile team made up for it today. They had both heat shields on and afterbodies hung by noon, run-ups and log entries completed and cowls back on by 3:00.
Nice work, guys!

Afterbodies hung and TR's hooked up...

Ready to run.

I'll snap some pics tomorrow while at work. That'll give me an opportunity to figure out how to post pics.

I've always found CAM/CAD and machining to be fascinating.
