Draw result thread

#1 Post by Venator »

I am thinking of starting a drew result thread, the purpose of this thread would be to keep a database of the states, species, and special draw tags that people have gotten. Also this thread would be updated at the end of the hunt to reflect if the hunter was successful or unsuccessful. Separate threads could then be started for the story of the hunt. This database would be left very simple to reflect the important information. An example of this would be say that hunter A drew a Colorado sheep tag, then two years later hunter B drew the same tag. Hunter B could then contact hunter A and discuss areas, access, terrain, etc..... I would not expect anyone to give away the exact locations of their honey holes. But for special draw areas I am wondering if this would be a good idea.

In addition, outfitter information could also be added to this thread. There are a lot of good outfitters out their, but a lot of bad can be found. This way we could help advertise any good outfitter, and help hunters with their decisions.

This thread would stay open and updated as tags are drawn and areas are hunted.

An example of this would be Hunter A

Moose tag - Idaho
DIY type hunt
Successful

Very simple very easy, but gives other people a chance to see if someone else has hunted the same species in the same state.

Anyone that would not want to share any information should not post on this thread. But anyone that would be willing to share their knowledge would be free to post.

If you guys think this a good idea please respond and add any changes that you think would be helpful.

Thanks

All big game hunts in Nevada are draws and more western states are moving in that direction. Hunters helping hunters should be a good thing.

Drew a North Dakota mule deer tag, applied for Iowa and plan on purchasing a leftover Wyoming Antelope tag.

I would like to try and draw some mule deer tags for Colorado. The unit we hunt, and I can't remeber it right off hand has across the counetr Elk licenscene of either sex and a mule deer draw. I have killed and Elk so the next time I go I am going to try and draw the mulie tags also becuase I had some really nice bucks at karate range. One was a 7x5 absolute monster, a real world class deer.. Well past his ears and he just watched me and my brother from less than ten yards away. Granted he may have thought we were Elk if we were farher because we were moving and calling, but at ten yards! I am willing to bet a tractor trailer would have had a hard time hauling all the mule deer i could have killed if legal. Seriously, I look forward to be ing able to hunt some of these deer. It has been a life long dream of mine.
