May Old Acquaintance Be Forgot...

The majority of your bowhunting year is spent practicing and/or training. This is the place to discuss it!

May Old Acquaintance Be Forgot...

#1 Post by Captainkirk »

Not likely.
It's been a while, so I shot the Griz tonight.
He was in fine form...I reckon he was a little worried about all the fuss over the K-Mag and the Elk Seeker. You just keep a-worryin', little buddy...

And, yep; those are the retro-arrows I made last fall.

Dang Capt'n, that's some fine shootin my friend. Although I suspect I could put my bearcat in your mitts and we would see the same outcome.... I believe you are ready for October ; )

Keep it up and you might just connect this fall.

Forgot to mention, those arrows are almost too handsome to shoot for pre game ! As I've mentioned before, amazing craftsmanship.

Nah. I build arrows to shoot. If I mess 'em up, why...just build more!
Those arrows have a back story. I built them to duplicate the arrows my Dad got me when I was around 10 or so...

An original (top)
The duplicates (bottom)

Matching colors was tough. The old ones had faded a lot...

You can't tell in this pic, but here I am shooting them about 50 years ago...

...and here is the bow. Yes, I still shoot it.

Thanks for sharing Capt'n ! That longbow is seriously bigger than you ! Your father did well. There is a sentimental side to all of you that very much rings true with me. Chasing traditional hunting is bigger than the sport IMHO.....
