I just got back home - I scored the exact same score in the first two rounds as I did last year and ended in 4th Place again in the Recurve Division. I won $200.00 in the 3Rivers Hunter Challenge Shoot Off (3rd). My brother finished 5th in the HHW. My son finished first in the Hunter Challenge Cubs and 3rd in the IBO Cubs.

Chris Walker's (specklebellies) son was the star of the shoot - he shot in the Cubs division and scored the highest score of the event - 583 on 60 targets. I shot with Chris and his son the first two rounds and on some of the shots his son shot from the further stake because he thought the cub stake was too close!

All the scores are up at http://www.ibo.net for all the classes.

I had a great time.

I will post some pics later this week.

Thanks - I feel pretty good about it - even though I did not win - I was right up there and even scored higher for the 2nd year in a row than world famous archers like Rod Jenkins and Ty Pelfrey (a famous string walker).

But the most fun was seeing my son win and my brother Tom, who has been shooting more often over the last year shoot 5th in his class.

We all had a great time.

I cannot stress enough - that this is FRIENDLY competition - it is sooo much fun - even among the top shooters - this is NOTHING like the high level competition that you see among compound shooters - where they won't even talk to each other during an entire round - or when they do it is to try and get in another's head. There may be a guy or two like that out there - but I have yet to meet them or shoot with them.

Congratulations to you and your family on the great shooting.

Did Rick Welch shoot? I didn't catch his name in the results.

Thanks, Rick did not shoot this year. He was falling behind on his bow orders and did not want to make anyone wait any longer for their bow than they had too.
