Made this sheath for a Buck 110?

#1 Post by White Falcon »

Never saw a 110 like this. Not even the same size as a standard 110, about 1/8" + or - all measurements smaller. But a heaver knife.Looks like chrome or very high polish, and finger groves on scales. I made it so the big end would be at the bottom so it would stay in better. All looked factory and no personal mods.

Not a 110, but I've had a 112 for almost 40 years. Made a similar pouch style sheath for mine, with some softer buckskin. Like it a lot better than the standard issue Buck sheath.

Nice pouch.

I had a 110 in the 70's and a Schrade+ copy of the 110 I hunted with in the early 90's until I dropped the blade into some tall grass and lost it. Now I can't find either. I went to a Gerber Gator and a Wyoming knife after that.

I wonder if those dimensions changed with the addition of the finger groove scales. The rivets also are gone on your model that has some sort of synthetic scales bonded on. Is the high polish that looks like chrome actually the brass, that these were made of?

Could be, is thinner, and all steel. No brass on this knife. Never saw one like this.

Reading up on them, some were nickle silver (my guess for yours). Does it tarnish some? Does anyone know if nickel silver tarnishes? Some custom models could be stainless and even titanium.
