Jamesh76 2020 hunting thread and the hunt continues
Season Starts Tuesday. Might as well get this going. I intend to be in a stand Wednesday morning. Not exactly sure what bow I will be taking. Need to shoot a little more and tune some. Hope I get time.
My Osage selfbow needs a little more work on the handle and shelf. The portion of riser just above the shelf I didn't quite get even. The part above the arrow rest on the belly side needs thinned a little more to match the outside edge. Didn't notice this until my buddy and I put several arrows through it last night. We only shot at 10-12 yards, but this thing slings an arrow. I also had a 66" all oak bow I almost have finished we were shooting side by side. The osage shot so much harder. Both bows are 40-42# at 28". I am not cut very close to center. I probably need to see what I have for 35-40 spine arrows. I got several just have to sort and find them. This osage bow MAY go on a date with me Wednesday Am if I can get everything to come together. Hoping for a great season!

Good luck James. I hope the osage bow works out for you.

I figured the osage bow would respond better, besides, it just looks better IMO. hope you get a shot with it. just something about being in the stand with a trad bow much less one that you made. maybe next year you will have some cane arrows ready. have fun James

I'll take that at 15. About 2" difference. Seem to fly straight. Easton autumn orange 1816 29.5" and 150 grain 2 blade tuskers.

Day 1. Something moving 40 yrds away and a turkey gobble. Hunting Big Oak which is a pinch point on their travel route. Lots of acorns on this property.
