Meet Hack

This is one of the bows I fought string alignment for quite a while. It is Hackberry 66" NTN 40#@28. Width profile is 1.75 until 15" from tapering to 1/2" tips. I like the cambium on the back. Sealed with Shellac. B50 string muskrat silencers, bike innertube grip and leather strike plate/shelf. Had to keep it wide due to some knots. Haven't been able to shoot much due to issues in my arms. Once I'm ready I will shoot it in good and refinish if needed. This is the 2nd Hackberry bow I have built, they are very light in the hand and a pretty easy wood to work with. I heat treated it multiple times straightening. The last time it was at 22" you can see the coloring where I removed wood to finish my tiller. This stave was high crown and difficult as 1 edge just rounded away and the other was fairly flat. It took 1.25" set.

Awesome bow James. Wish I lived closer to you for me it's easier to watch and learn.

There were things I didn’t like about this bow. Hack is being revived. Stand by for details.
